We are located on the 2nd floor of The Kirklin Clinic. Our office hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Please call (205) 934-9638 with any questions or concerns.
Appointments
To schedule an appointment, please call (205) 801-8375 or 1-800-333-6543 (if outside of the Birmingham area). In the event that you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, please call either of the numbers listed above. If possible, we appreciate your cancellation at least 24 hours in advance.
After Hours and Emergencies
If you need to reach your physician after hours, please call UAB Paging at (205) 934-3411. If this is a true medical emergency, please dial 911 for immediate assistance.
What to Bring with You
When you come to your appointment, please bring your insurance card, a photo ID, bottles of any prescription and over the counter medications that you are currently taking, and any pertinent medical information from other physicians.
Special Instructions
We kindly ask that you arrive at least 30 minutes before a new patient appointment to allow for adequate time for completing registration paperwork. Also, please allow 72 hours for obtaining a physician referral or pre-certification.
Payment Information
If you have insurance, your co-pay is expected at the time of your visit. If you are a private pay patient, full payment is expected upon completion of your appointment. Our financial counselors are available to all patients to discuss any problems or special circumstances. These counselors may be reached Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. at (205) 801-9910.
Labs/Test Results
Please allow 2-4 weeks from the time of any labs or tests performed in this clinic for results to be completely processed. You will be notified of any normal test results either by telephone, mail, or at your next office visit. Please be aware that any emergent abnormal lab or test values will be relayed to you by your physician as soon as the results are obtained.
Prescriptions
To obtain a refill for any medications prescribed by this clinic, please call (205) 934-9638. When calling our office, please have your pharmacy telephone number available to provide to our staff. Please allow 24-48 hours for routine prescriptions to be filled. We also suggest calling your drugstore prior to pick-up to verify that your medication is ready.
Patients with Limitations
Patients visiting The Kirklin Clinic may take advantage of convenient parking in the deck adjacent to the Clinic. Located at 2100 6th Avenue South, the parking deck is connected to the second floor of The Kirklin Clinic by a weatherproof sky bridge. High top van access is restricted to the first floor of the clinic parking deck. Therefore, patients arriving in high top vans and requiring wheelchair assistance should be dropped off at the front door of the clinic before the driver parks the vehicle. Valet parking is available on Level 2 of the deck; wheelchairs and additional assistance are located here as well.
