
A Nationally Ranked Heart Program
UAB's nationally ranked heart program provides the full spectrum of cardiovascular services and performs the most advanced cardiovascular, peripheral vascular, and thoracic surgery procedures available.
The UAB Heart and Vascular clinical services provides care for adults through the UAB Division of Cardiovascular Disease and Division of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, and the Section of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy.
Cardiology care is provided in the medical center district at the Cardiology Clinic on the fourth floor of The Kirklin Clinic. Primary Cardiology Services are available at UAB's Heart Health Centers.
Vascular care is provided through the Section of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy at UAB Hospital and the Vascular Clinic on the fifth floor of The Kirklin Clinic. Care for vein problems is provided through the UAB Vein Program and the UAB Vein Clinic.
Pediatric cardiovascular services are provided through UAB Division of Pediatric Cardiology.
Cardiac Catheterization
Among other uses, Cardiac Catheterization may be performed to assess the coronary artieries, heart valves, and function of the heart muscle.
