This division diagnoses disease based on the examination of cells, tissues, and organs from patients. The division conducts basic and applied research with the goal of increasing the recognition of organ-directed disease processes and of furthering diagnostic techniques such as electronmicroscopy, immunohistochemistry, and molecular diagnostics.
