Scruggs Joins Ophthalmology

Dr. ScruggsDepartment of Ophthalmology Chair Lanning B. Kline, MD, announces the appointment of Jennifer T. Scruggs, MD, as assistant professor of opthalmology.

A summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, NC, Dr. Scruggs completed her MD degree at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Little Rock, Ark, where she was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha and received the Roberts Key Award for overall highest grade point average and the Faculty Key for most outstanding student.

Dr. Scruggs’ completed her internship at Mayo Clinic Jacksonville, Fla, her ophthalmology residency at Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta, Ga, and her fellowship training in an American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery-sponsored program at New York University Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital, Columbia University, and The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in New York City.

She is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Her clinical practice is limited to ophthalmic plastic, reconstructive, orbital, and lacrimal surgery. She can be reached at 205.488.0756 for academic and administrative calls or at jscruggs@uab.edu.
