Dr. Gilliland graduated from Berry High School in Birmingham in 1975 and Auburn
University in 1979. He finished medical school at the University of Alabama
in 1983 and did his internship at Carraway Methodist Medical Center. He finished
his residency in ENT at the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1988.
After working at St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham for seven years, Dr.
Gilliland founded ENT Bessemer in 1997 and now works out of his office in the
professional building at Medical West.
Dr. Gilliland lives in Hoover with his wife Gretchen and sons Ric and Casey.
