The hospital is implementing a new process to improve patient and family security. If you have visited the hospital recently, you may have found many of the entrance doors locked and waiting areas requiring name badges.
Over the past years as the hospital has grown and spread over several blocks, the concern has increased for patient, visitor, and staff protection. A goal for the new security measures is to eventually require all visitors to wear some form of identification that documents their legitimate need to be here.
The Department of Pastoral Care with the cooperation of Hospital Human Resources is offering community clergy, who visit the hospital on a regular basis, a complimentary I.D. Badge. This official UAB badge will contain your picture and be recognized throughout the hospital system.
To apply for an I.D. Badge, come by our office in 125 West Pavilion between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The badge is free and will be good for two years before having to be renewed.
