Rehabilitation Nursing

Rehabilitation nursing is provided 24 hours a day in the facility. Through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, the nurse provides continuous individual support to the patient during the rehabilitation program. Specially trained nurses cooperate closely with other members of the rehabilitation team to help the patient achieve maximum independence. Nursing responsibilities include teaching the patient and family the skills, attitudes, and techniques needed to adjust to the home environment. UAB Spain Rehabilitation has been recognized by the American Nursing Association as a Magnet Nursing Facility for their excellent standard of care.
