The Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine provides clinical care for all general pediatric outpatient services at Children's Hospital. In addition to providing medical care for adolescents, the division is also responsible for the care of newborns in the Well - Baby Nursery at UAB Hospital, caring for over 3,000 infants each year.

A number of clinics exist to provide support for families and for follow-up of patients with special medical needs, such as:

ADHD

spina bifida

small premature infants

infants of substance abusing mothers

follow-up studies of medically fragile children
