Pediatric Injury Epidemiology and Control is the research arm of the Southeast Child Safety Institute and maintains injury surveillance data on injury mortality, injury hospitalization, poision ingestion in children and adults, prehospital and hospital care of injured children, prescription drug overdose in preschool children and other special projects. These data are supplied to selected national databases, governmental agencies, and childhood injury prevention programs and are of vital importance in developing injury-related health objectives for Alabama children and for state and local injury control efforts.
