The University of Alabama at Birmingham Liver Center (LC) specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and research of liver disease and liver disease related disorders. The LC uses the lastest in research and medical technology with a comprehensive approach to liver disease including:

Hepatology inservice - inpatient service dedicated exclusively to patients with liver disease, staffed by a team of hepatologists and nurse specialist.

Transplant Evaluation - close collaboration with the UAB Liver Transplant service.

Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services - a comprehensive approach to evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of liver disease, including CT, MRI, ERCP, banding of varices, Doppler Ultrasound and Angiography.

Outpatient Services - follow-up at the Kirklin Clinic at UAB Medical Center

Research - developing new techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of liver disease through scientific research and clinical trials.
