Dr. Davidson maintained an active practice in Internal Medicine for 19 years prior to joining the UAB Faculty in the Department of Family and Community Medicine. During that time, she served as a faculty member in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at the UAB School of Nursing for 12 years and maintained a clinical practice in the general medicine clinic at Cooper Green Hospital. Later, she served as an Associate Professor in the School of Nursing at Samford University, and was responsible for the adult health content in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program. During that time, Dr. Davidson maintained an active clinical practice in Internal Medicine at The Kirklin Clinic.
Dr. Davidson has been actively involved in the Alabama Nurse Practitioner Council (ANPC), the Alabama State Nurses' Association (ASNA), and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She has served as president of the ANPC, chaired several ASNA committees, and recently served as the Alabama representative for the AANP. Additionally, she has given presentations on the local, state, and national levels.
