Located within the UAB Medical Center, Spain Rehabilitation Center provides care and treatment programs, both inpatient and outpatient, that help patients prevent or overcome physicial complications that can result from disorders or injuries.

The UAB Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Program has been ranked one of the best in the country in U.S. News & World Report.

Specially trained UAB teams also provide rehabilitation programs associated with:

• spinal core injury
  
• OB/Gyn care for women with physical disabilities
  
• amputees

The department's goal is to help each patient become medically, phychologically, socially, and vocationally rehabilitated and to prevent physical complications of the disorder
