This service is provided by the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences at UAB Spain Rehabilitation Center and includes evaluation and treatment for patients with hearing, language and articulation disorders.
In the
Hearing Clinic, patients of all ages with known or suspected hearing disorders may be referred for audiologic assessment including differential diagnosis to determine lesion site, hearing aid evaluation and fitting, rehabilitative therapy (including auditory and speechreading training), and specialized counseling.
The UAB Hearing Clinic is one of the only two Professional Service Board (PSB) accredited locations in the state.
The
speech division provides evaluation and treatment services for patients with language and articulation disorders as well as communication disorders related to neurological conditions, craniofacial abnormalities, and head and neck surgery
This is one of two clinics in Alabama that are accredited by the Professional Standards Board of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
