Cardiac Catheterization Service

Testing techniques within the Cardiac Catheterization Service give physicians the capability of taking pictures simultaneously from two different angles, as well as the use of an imaging computer to conduct even more sophisticated analyses. Outpatient cardiac catheterization is also available.
These techniques evaluate heart abnormalities in adults. The Cardiac Catheterization Service also performs myocardial biopsies, where cardiologists remove a tiny sample of the lining on the inside of the heart and examine it under a microscope. Myocardial biopsies help determine any abnormal findings in the tissue, diagnose refection following heart transplants, or examine certain causes of heart failure.
