The
Deep South Center for Occupational Health and Safety is one of 15 Education and Research Centers sponsored by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). The Deep South Center is a consortium with the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Auburn University.
The Center offers programs in the following areas:

- industrial hygiene
- occupational health nursing
- occupational medicine
- occupational safety and ergonomics
