Birmingham is located in the State of Alabama, in the South-East of the United States. On the east, it is bordered by the State of Georgia and on the south by the State of Florida.
To arrive at Birmingham, one can enter the United States through the following airports and make connection:

Continental Airlines offers daily flights
Houston-Birmingham (1 ½ hours flight time)

Passengers arriving through Miami should make connection in Atlanta in order to arrive at Birmingham.
- American Airlines, United Airlines, Varig
Other routes are not recommended because they are longer or use small airplanes which are less comfortable and require more flight time.
In the Birmingham Airport
All commercial airlines offer special courtesy services such as wheel chairs, interpreters, and transportation between terminals and departure gates. Remember to request these services at the time of ticket purchase.
Upon arrival at the Birmingham Airport, a member of the International Patient Services staff will await you, with hospital identification. Please remember to communicate your travel itinerary to this office before leaving your country.
