UAB HealthFinder

Celebrating 20 years of healthy answers

By Virginia M. Crittenden

UAB HealthFinder is the number to call when you have healthcare questions. Now celebrating 20 years of service to the community, HealthFinder offers a full spectrum of healthcare services for you and your family. From newborn health issues to Alzheimer’s disease, we have the answers. Our experienced registered nurses are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to listen to your healthcare concerns, answer your questions about symptoms, help you learn about a disease or condition, and refer you to the most appropriate level of care.

The HealthFinder nurses are prepared to handle questions ranging from, “Where can I go to get a health checkup?” to “What are the signs and symptoms of cancer?” UAB nurses at HealthFinder can direct you to a page on our Web site for more information or help you schedule an appointment with a UAB physician.

If you are interested in a UAB clinical research trial or would like more information about UAB Health System programs and services, just give us a call or contact us through the UAB Health System Web site. Visit uabhealth.org and select “make an appointment,” fill in the information and a HealthFinder nurse will call or e-mail you.

The next time you have a health question, call the service that’s been providing answers for two decades—UAB HealthFinder—(205) 934-9999 or 1-800-UAB-8816.
