The Gynecologic Oncology Office at UAB Highlands
Women with gynecologic cancer can get the same exceptional treatment they’ve always expected from UAB physicians, now in a more comfortable setting. The UAB Gynecologic Oncology Office has moved to a newly redesigned facility at UAB Highlands, at the corner of 11th Avenue South and 13th Street.
The new location offers easy access and free parking. Inside, patients will find built-in comforts including a chemotherapy infusion suite with a panoramic view of the city as well as state-of-the-art treatment rooms. To help alleviate the stress involved in cancer diagnosis and treatment, the entire office is designed to have a calm, soothing atmosphere.
The UAB Gynecologic Oncology Office has the region’s only group of board-certified physicians who treat women with gynecologic cancer. Physicians here take a multidisciplinary approach to providing comprehensive care for women with precancerous and cancerous conditions of the reproductive system. Our team of professionals assists women with the physical and emotional challenges associated with gynecologic cancer, customizing a treatment plan to each patient’s individual needs.
As a vital part of the Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Gynecologic Oncology Office links patients with therapies from the most recent advances in cancer care, as well as offering access to the latest clinical research trials. Our physicians provide complete medical and surgical services related to gynecologic cancer, including: minimally invasive surgery, advanced pelvic surgery, alternative therapies and vaccine therapy, as well as biologic and gene therapies. Other services include screening and prevention, patient support groups and familial risk assessment.
