The UAB Health System’s (UABHS) Web site home page, uabhealth.org, and an advertising campaign designed to recruit acute care nurses to UAB Hospital won bronze prizes recently at the Healthcare Marketing Report’s Annual Healthcare Advertising Awards.
UABHS Office of Marketing Communications’ entries were among a field of 4300 judged on creativity, quality, message effectiveness, consumer appeal, graphic design, and overall impact.
Marketing Communications also received merit awards for its Nursing Services Annual Report and a quarterly Cancer Answers newsletter.
In a separate competition, UAB’s quarterly consumer health magazine, ehealth, brought home top awards in an annual contest sponsored by McMurry, which custom publishes more than 100 hospital periodicals. UAB ehealth competed with similar McMurry publications, winning in several categories including Best Custom Publication, Best Online/Publication Integration, Best Magazine/Marketing Campaign Integration, and Best Consumer Response Generator.
In addition, the UABHS Web site received a gold award from the World Wide Web Health Awards for patient education information. The Web site also received a platinum award for its rich media content from among 1100 participants in the eHealthcare Leadership Awards presented by eHealthcare Strategy and Trends.
