TKC Clinical Practice Committee

At its May meeting, The Kirklin Clinic® (TKC) Clinical Practice Committee (CPC) meeting:
  • Reviewed the new Standard Radiology Order Form, which will eliminate the various forms currently in use and better meet the Department of Radiology’s need to keep a paper file for compliance. Plans are to explore options for electronic radiology order requests within the next 2 years.
 
  • Heard from TKC Chief of Staff Nancy Dunlap, MD, PhD about:
 
    • Plans to distribute the TKC Handbook  at the June 10 TKC CPC Meeting.
    • Relocation of Prime Care Internal Medicine III clinics to their new space on TKC 3rd Floor. The Breast Health Center’s space is being renovated with a projected move date in early June 2008.
    • Recommendations from TKC Clinical Practice Committee
      • Look for ways to reduce redundancy in physician documentation, clearly delineate the documentation requirements for physicians in the TKC Handbook, and involve corporate compliance in educating, auditing, and providing feedback to physicians regarding documentation.
      • After The Joint Commission survey, revisit TKC processes associated with The Joint Commission surveys.
 
  • Reviewed and discussed the following reports:
    • Tracer Report by clinic.
    • Patient Satisfaction Scores by clinic – physician indicators.      
    • TKC Physicians:  Press Ganey Honorable Mentions.
