Accolades: Warner Huh, MD

Warner Huh, MD, assistant professor in UAB's Division of Gynecologic Oncology and associate scientist in the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center, has been nominated to the National Cancer Institute's Gynecological Oncology Group (GOG) Cervix Committe, which evaluates new treatment concepts and existing clinical trials for cervical cancer. "This natiowide cooperative group, in many circumstances, has set the standard of care for cervical cancer treatment," he says. It has also determined the utility of chemoradiation and treatments for recurrent cancer.

There are three main disease site-based committees: cervical, ovarian, and corpus (endometrial). Each committee is responsible for discussing new protocol concepts, reviewing ongoing active trials, and scrutinizing results. Appointment is based on recommendation from the principal investigators in GOG institutions.
