The first Minority Research Day in Alabama, sponsored by UAB and held at the Great Hall from 7:30 am to 6 pm, will promote research activities conducted by African American and Hispanic investigators in all disciplines.
African American and Hispanic students, postgraduates, and faculty researchers from UAB, from Alabama's Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and from Morehouse School of Medicine have been invited to submit abstracts for the meeting. The event provides exposure and new research possibilities, networking, and career development opportunities.
The event will be codirected by Louis Dale, PhD, vice president for equity and diversity; Mona Fouad, MD, MPH, director of the Minority Health & Research Center; and Selwyn Vickers, MD, director of Project EXPORT.
