Reynolds Historical Library

Located on the campus of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, the Reynolds Historical Library is a nationally respected collection of rare and important books, manuscripts and artifacts in the medical sciences.

The Reynolds Historical Library is fortunate to have an extensive collection of items relating to Civil War medicine, especially those related to practices of the nineteenth century. Local history is represented by an article on the cholera epidemic that almost decimated the fledgling city of Birmingham in 1873.
