Do you provide tuition reimbursement?
Educational assistance benefits are available to UAB employees and their spouses and/or dependent children. Eligible coursework must be taken at UAB for
UAB academic credit and is subject to grade point average requirements. See the full policy and certification requirement under Section 319 of the UAB Policy and Procedures Manual.
What retirement benefits do you offer?
UAB Hospital employees may be covered under the State of Alabama retirement plan, which is known as Teacher's Retirement. Also, UAB offers the TIAA/CREF (403b) plan which is a voluntary program available for certain employment categories. For more information on our Retirement Programs click here.
Where do I park and what is the cost?
All UAB employees have designated parking in a specific deck or lot and are charged a nominal fee. For more information go to UAB Parking and Transportation.
How often are employees paid?
Payroll Services remits information and/or payment to employees, governmental agencies, companies, and UAB departments in a timely and accurate manner within federal, state and local guidelines. The Payroll staff is responsible for processing and distributing the monthly, biweekly, and supplemental payrolls. We provide many services for our employees such as mandatory and voluntary payroll deductions, direct deposit, and salary verifications. For more information go to Payroll Services.

How long must one stay in one position before becoming eligible to transfer into another?
