The UAB Health System corporate office oversees the management of the entire Health System. The fellow will have the opportunity to participate in the daily operations of the corporate office and interaction with Health System executives. A major component of this rotation is the participation in governance preparation for Board of Directors committee meetings. The fellow will gain an understanding of the macro view of the organization through access to the Strategic Planning, Marketing, and Finance departments at a health system level. In addition, this portion of the rotation will offer the fellow the option of rotating through the other operating entities and affiliates such as:
· The Callahan Eye Foundation Hospital
· UAB Highlands, a community hospital contiguous to the UAB campus
· VIVA Health, a health maintenance organization and entity of the UAB Health System
· Medical West, an affiliate of the UAB Health System and community hospital located 20 minutes from the medical center campus
· Baptist Health, an affiliate of the UAB Health System and health care system located in Montgomery, Alabama
