EatRight Recipe: Baked Apples

Trying to lose weight? You don’t have to skip dessert. Just make figure-friendly choices like these baked apples.
  • 3 Rome apples
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 Tbsp. raisins
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • ¼ tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. reduced-calorie margarine, melted
Cut apples in half, and remove cores. Place apple halves in an 8-inch square baking dish; add water to dish. Place ½ teaspoon raisins and 1 tsp. sugar in each apple half; sprinkle with cinnamon.Drizzle margarine evenly over apples. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until tender.

Yield: 6 servings
Nutrition information per serving: 69 calories, 1 g fat, 16 g carbohydrate, 2 g fiber, 0 mg cholesterol, 17 mg sodium
