UAB Director of the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery and John D. Sherrill Chair of Orthopaedic Surgery Thomas R. Hunt III, MD, announces the appointment of Joseph G. Khoury, MD, as assistant professor of surgery.

A graduate of the University of Iowa College of Medicine, Iowa City, Dr. Khoury completed an internship and residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics before accepting a fellowship at Children’s Orthopaedics of Atlanta.

Dr. Khoury comes to UAB from the Shriners Hospitals for Children in Erie, Pennsylvania, where he was assistant chief of staff, vice president of the medical executive committee, and physician director of the Myelodysplasia Program.

His clinical and research interests include adolescent and infantile scoliosis, deformities of the lower limb, and pediatric foot and ankle care.
