Menu Choice Make-over

It is difficult to turn on the television without flipping through the channels to see a make-over show. Make-over your house. Make-over your car. Make-over your style. Make-over your body. Perhaps what needs making over the most is the choices we make at restaurants. Menus offering more healthy food choices can be seen from fast food chains to upscale fine dining; but the catch is that what you think looks good on your plate could be making more of an impact on your weight than you realize. When you’re on the go, it doesn’t have to be difficult to eat healthy; all it takes is a menu-choice makeover. For this make-over, saving your calories can actually mean saving your cash! Here are a few made over menu choices that may help you spice up your selection style:

Know your food choice before you get to the restaurant. The internet has made it easy to look up a restaurant, see what menu items are offered, and find the nutritional information on each item.

At fast food restaurants, opt for a kid’s meal. These portions are smaller and usually less expensive.

Try sharing an entrée when dining with a friend. Servings can be entirely too big. Halving an order can be cheaper and a good way to decrease over-eating and wasting food.
