IMPACT, the new clinical information order entry system to replace the current PIN system, is scheduled to go live Sunday, May 18th. Training is mandatory, with classes ending May 9th. To register for a class:
- Physicians and ancillary personnel go to the Horizon Web site and select IMPACT Training.
- Individuals working in a nursing unit, contact their manager.
Conversion Preparations
To be prepared for the IMPACT conversion, all staff should:
- Obtain a Horizon log on.
- Be familiar with downtime procedures.
- Practice what you learned in class (Go to the SPP-SCR Web site at https://scr.hs.uab.edu/ to view “How To” videos and practice what was taught in class).
Estimated Conversion Times
- Wednesday–Saturday: Physicians and nursing super users begin preloading orders from PIN into IMPACT. Pharmacy will verify medication orders.
- Cut off orders in PIN around noon Saturday, May 17th (PIN in View-Only).
- Begin using downtime “green sheets.”
- Begin using IMPACT estimated early morning Sunday, May 18th.
