Eye Foundation Sponsors Art Show

March 1, 2001

An exhibit featuring works of Birmingham-born painter Cynthia Massey Parsons will be held to benefit the Indigent Care Fund at the Callahan Eye Foundation Hospital at UAB. The show will run from March 5 to 17 at Les Trois Marches, 2008 Cahaba Road, English Village, in Birmingham.

The hospital’s Indigent Care Fund will receive a portion of the proceeds from sales on the dates of two public receptions at the gallery. The receptions will be on March 6, 2 to 4 pm and March 7, 10 am to noon.

The exhibition, entitled “The Eyes of March,” includes formal oils of European scenes, joyous florals, opulent painted tapestries, and playful cartoons of eyes. Parsons, a recent portraitist of Pope John Paul II and New York's John Cardinal O'Connor, is noted for work that combines variety, excellence, and great energy.
