Todd M. Cooper, DO, assistant professor, has joined the Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, accoring to UAB Professor and Chair of the Department of Pediatrics Sergio Stagno, MD, and Professor and Director of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Thomas H. Howard, MD.

A graduate of the University of Georgia in Athens and Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Dr. Cooper completed a pediatric internship and residency at the University of South Alabama in Mobile. He joins UAB after having served a pediatric hematology and oncology fellowship at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

Dr. Cooper's clinical interests center on treatment of children with relapsed leukemia and on stem cell transplants. His research interests include developmental therapeutics and developing clinical trials utilizing new drug development.

He is currently accepting patients at the pediatric hematology and oncology clinic at Children's Hospital and may be reached at 939-9285 for academic and administrative calls and at 939-9938 for patient appointments; e-mail tcooper@peds.uab.edu.
