‘UAB – Working Together for Safety’
The recent UAB Hospital Employee Safety Fair was designed to increase awareness of the availability and proper use of safety products and equipment and of policies and procedures related to safety practices.
The event attracted 44 vendors and more than 1100 attendees.
A highlight was a Hospital Safety Fair slogan contest. The winning slogan, “UAB — Working Together for Safety,” was submitted by Crystal Reaves, medical laboratory technician in the Cardiac Surgery ICU laboratory. It will be used for the 2010 Safety Fair.
Second place went to Alice L. Bracknell, manager, Department of Quality Resources. Third place winner was Heidi Ferguson, RN, Surgical ICU.
Advanced Nursing Coordinator Ann E. Colvin, RN, Department of Nursing Education and Professional Development, coordinated the Employee Safety Fair.
